Match ANY search word - Click the "match any search word" button to search for topics which contain AT LEAST ONE of the search terms entered. The results will be sorted in order of the number of terms matched.
Match ALL search word - Click the "match all search word" button to search for topics which contain ALL of the search terms entered. The results will be sorted in order of the number of terms matched.
Exclusion/negative searches - precede a search term with a hyphen character to exclude that search term from being included in your search results. For example, a search for "DHCP -VLAN" would return all topics containing the word "DHCP" but not the word "VLAN".
* Wildcard - an asterisk (*) matches any number of characters. That means that you can use it as a placeholder for any sequence of letters or symbols. For example, if you enter blueb* you'll get all the terms that start with "blueb"; if you enter *bird you'll get all the terms that end with "bird"; if you enter *lueb* you'll get all the terms that contain the sequence "lueb", and so forth.
? Wildcard - the question mark (?) matches exactly one character. That means that you can use it as a placeholder for a single letter or symbol. The query M?t?l, for example, will find the word "Mitel" and "Motel".
Finding words in the current topic - Search looks in all topics (or those in the selected category) for terms entered. To search the current topic only, use the Find function:
1) Click in the topic frame.
2) Press Ctrl-f.
3) Type the word(s).
4) Click Next.
