Enabling G.729 transcoding may degrade voice quality. In addition, it greatly increases the load on the MBG server’s CPU which reduces the number of simultaneous calls it can handle. If compression licenses are available through the ICP, use these licenses instead. To set G.729 compression:
On the Configuration tab, click Settings, and then click Edit.
Under Minet options, select the G.729 Transcoding check box.
Click Save.
Notes:
You can change the transcoding setting for individual MiNET devices on the Services tab.
Compression licenses are required.
Compression licenses are not interchangeable with the compression licenses of other applications.
You can also configure set-side compression to apply a compression codec to the voice traffic that goes to remote sets.
