The Indirect Call Recording feature facilitates centralized call recording of IP sets connected to ICPs located in remote offices.
Once this feature is implemented, the Secure Recording Connector (SRC) service of the MBG server acts as a broker between the ICPs and third-party CREs for adding and removing taps on the IP sets. The ICPs send copies of the signaling to the MBG/SRC while the IP sets send copies of the RTP media streams to the CREs.
Indirect call recording is supported on:
5300-series and 6900-series MiVoice IP Phones using the MiNet protocol
ICPs with MiVoice Business release 5.0 SP1 or later
a limited range of Call Recording Equipment.
The 53xx and 69xx sets support different SRTP crypto suites. The 69xx sets no longer support the legacy SRTP cipher suite so Indirect Call Recording of 69xx sets requires the call recording vendor to support the newer SRTP ciphers available in the latest (version 1.6) SRC interface on MBG.
Contact Mitel Technical Support for a list of supported equipment.
Note: The 53xx sets support both the legacy and newer SRTP ciphers so if your deployment includes a mix of both, you must use a CRE that supports the newer SRC interface. This does not affect Direct Call Recording.
