The MBG server receives messages from the ICP telling
it to stream voice traffic to a particular IP address. There are some
situations where you need to stream to a different IP address.
For example:
If there are multiple servers in the DMZ, a call
from one set on MBG1 to another set on MBG2 will have no audio
path. In this case, you would configure IP Translation for all
servers, specifying the relationship between their public addresses
and their private DMZ addresses.
If Server A is streaming to Server B in a DMZ at
a remote office, voice traffic for calls between the sets on these
servers would stream over the Internet because the ICP uses the
public IP address of the servers. In this case, you would configure
IP Translation to substitute the private address of Server B for
its public address (and make sure it is routable from Server A).
To configure IP Translation:
On the MBG main page, click the Network
tab and click IP Translations.
Click Add new rule.
In the Destination address
field, enter the IP address that the ICP uses to stream traffic
(for example, the public IP of the server).
In the Translation address
field, enter the IP address to which you want to divert the traffic
(for example, the private IP of the server).
