What's New for this Release
Release 11.0
Installation and Upgrades
- MBG 11.0 runs on Mitel Standard Linux Release
11.0. Before upgrading to MBG 11.0, verify that your server
hardware is compatible with CentOS Linux 7.
- MSL 11.0 and later uses the Mitel Software Download
Center, supported by a global content distribution network
to increase speed and reliability of downloads.
- For Virtual MBG deployments, the Small Business
configuration now uses 2 GB of RAM. Refer to the Virtual
Appliance Deployment Guide.
Management
- The MiVoice Border Gateway (MBG) user interface
(UI) is restructured to provide a more service-oriented solution.
“Remote Proxy configuration is now done under the MBG UI.
- The interface is enhanced to include an option
to search within the MBG UI. The Search option is available
on the top right corner of the interface, on the main menu
bar. The administrator can use this feature to find where
to configure or view commonly used MBG options.
- The MBG Dashboard has a new look and feel. The
purpose is to provide more visual or per-service indicators
to the administrator.
- The Packet Trace diagnostics tool is redesigned
to make it evident that there are two different types of traces
and the data that is captured is different.
- The global trace is now a rotating capture
limited to 1.2G and does not stop when leaving the interface.
This trace automatically stops if there is less than 5G
of disk space left.
- Starting the global trace also starts signalling
pcap, done mainly to help troubleshoot MiCollab client
that connect over SIP TLS.
- The Fetch all button downloads all the traces
and the same logs that would be included in Fetch Logs.
MiNet Devices
- Mitel 6905, 6010, and 6970 series IP Phones
can be used as teleworker devices on MBG with a MiVoice Business.
SIP Devices
- Support for push notification on MiCollab Android
client in MiCollab 9.0.
SIP Trunks
- As of MBG 11.0, SIP Trunking is supported over
TLS in SRV MODE.
- SIP trunking resiliency with DNS SRV has been
enhanced to support re-registration before sending a call
to a new gateway. This feature is supported for providers
who use the same credentials for all SIP requests.
Call Recording
- MBG is now enhanced to provide SIPREC service
in addition to SRC. SIPREC service is an industry-standard
protocol to record SIP devices, enabling external Call Recording
Equipment (CRE) to record audio calls.
