This screen allows you to perform an upgrade.
An Upgrade updates the software from a lower release to a higher release. It involves a database backup, new software installation and activation, licensing, database restore. In pre-9.0 releases, upgrades could done online or offline.
Online Upgrade: During an online upgrade, new software is installed on the inactive partition, and the call control database of the running system is converted and prepared for use by the new software, while the old system is still running. These steps reduce the service outage time during an upgrade.
Offline Upgrade: An offline upgrade is performed with the system out of service during the entire procedure.
NOTE: The Perform Upgrade option is disabled if the initial login detects that the system has 3300 ICP Release 7.x or earlier software installed. A Full Install is required to upgrade these controllers. See Overview of Full Installation Options.
