CLIP based routing
With CLIP based routing, it is possible to route incoming external or internal calls based on their CLIP. This way certain calls can be rejected, left to come to "nothing" or routed to a specific destination.
CLIP based routing is used both for external and internal calls via CDE call number.
An external incoming call or internal calls via CDE call numbers can be routed based on their CLIP. For this create call routing tables then, for each switching position, assign them one or more call distribution elements.
An external or internal call to a CDE, to which a routing table is assigned on the current switching position, is handled as follows:
The CLIP is compared with the entries in the assigned routing table, starting with the topmost entry. If the digits of the CLIP, starting from the left, match an entry in the table, the call is routed according to the configuration of the Action selection field to another CDE, rejected or the caller permanently receives a ring back tone. The action can be configured separately for each entry in the table.
If the CLIP does not match, normal routing is used.
- All calls in the connection data collection are always entered, regardless of the chosen action.
- For mobile/external users, virtual PISN users and MMC mobile phones, the external call number is always first replaced with the internal user number, before the comparison with a call routing table is made.
- A call is only routed exactly once because an entry in a call distribution table matches. For redirection situations (e.g. CDE if no answer / CDE if busy / redirection to CDE call number) this should not necessarily be the case with the first CDE.
- If the call is routed from CDE A to CDE B because an entry in a routing table matches, only the settings for CDE B are effective.
Creating and activating call routing tables
-
Click New and give the table a name.
-
Click the
symbol and enter a digit sequence. -
Confirm the entry with
. -
Choose the action that should be executed for this entry.
-
Make further entries. In so doing, follow the instructions under the table.
-
Click the Apply and sort list button.
-
Check the sorted table. Make sure that the entries are checked from top to bottom.
-
Click the Apply button to return to the overview page of the call routing tables.
-
In the required call distribution elements, activate the parameter Use CLIP based routing and assign one of the created call routing tables.
The incoming CLIP is now checked for all calls via a CDE to which a call routing table is assigned in the current switching position. If the CLIP digits starting from the left side match an entry in the call routing table, the chosen action is taken.
Alternatively, you can also create the call routing table by importing an Excel file. For this, click the Import button and follow the corresponding instructions.
Deleting CLIP numbers
To delete some CLIP numbers in a table, click the
symbol.
Deleting call routing tables
To delete a call routing table, click the Delete button. On the left edge a checkbox is displayed for each table. Select the tables you want to delete, and click the Delete button once again.

Exporting and importing call routing table data
Call routing table data is part of the Excel export file and can also be edited externally. The export file contains a specific spreadsheet for this (CLIP based routing). For more details please refer to "Importing and exporting configuration data".
