Cards and modules

The following overview shows which interface cards and system modules are fitted to your communication server, the status of the individual cards and modules, and how many slots are still free.

  • Top slot (shaft)1,3,5,7, slot 1 is reserved for the call manager card CPU1.

  • Down slot (shaft) 2,4,6,8, the applications card CPU2 and CPU2-S can only be fitted on slot 2.

Modules are fitted to cards.

Enabled

On Mitel 470, an installed EIP module can be activated / deactivated here. (default value: Activated)

When the card is in operation, In service is displayed here.

Temperature

The temperature of some cards is monitored (CPU1,CPU2, CPU2-S, FXO, FXS). The card's current temperature is shown here.

Additional status info

If the card is running fault-free, No failure is displayed here.

Note:

If you are in the view System overview / Cards and modules you first have to change to the view Configuration / System / Cards and modules to populate or remove cards and modules.

Fitting and removing cards or modules

The procedure for fitting and removing interface cards and system modules is described in detail in the System Manual of the corresponding platform.

CAUTION:
  • Before any intervention on the communication server make sure it is disconnected from the power supply.
  • Always take note of the safety regulations before any intervention on the communication server!
Note:

As a precaution manually create a backup of the configuration data before and after making any changes to the hardware (Data backup view).

Fitting new cards or modules

To equip the communication server with new cards and modules proceed as follows:

  1. With the power disconnected equip the basic system with the new cards and the relevant wiring adapters and the new modules according to the instructions in the System Manual.

  2. Start the communication server, log in with WebAdmin via the browser and navigate to this page.

    In the newly fitted slots the card and module names are displayed with the status Available. A Confirm button is visible at the end of each slot line.

  3. Confirm each new card and each new module by clicking the Confirm button.

    The status changes from Available to In service; the procedure is now completed.

Removing cards or modules

To remove fitted cards and modules from the communication server proceed as follows:

  1. With the power disconnected remove the cards with the relevant wiring adapters and the modules according to the instructions in the System Manual.

  2. Start the communication server, log in with WebAdmin via the browser and navigate to this page.

    Under the card and module names of the emptied slots the line now reads Undefined now and the relevant status is now Unknown. At the end of the slot line where a card or module has been removed, a Delete button is now visible.

  3. Click the Delete button to remove the slot’s entry; the slot is now once again released.
