Digital terminal interfaces (DSI)

Shows you the available terminal interfaces for digital system phones. You can connect 2 system phones or one DECT radio unit per interface. The line length can be up to 1.200 m long.

DSI variants

Your communication server supports system phones with DSI-AD2 interface at its digital terminal interface. The Mitel 470 communication server also supports system phones with DSI-DASL interface.

Digital terminal interface DSI-AD2

Depending on the line length 1 or 2 system phones can be connected on each DSI interface. In this context the DECT radio unit is also regarded as a system phone. To ensure that the signal propagation time is in the optimum range, the line length is subject to the following requirements:

  • With line lengths of up to a maximum of 700 m you can connect two system phones. The maximum line length between the connection points of the two system phones must not exceed 10 m.

  • If you connect only one system phone, the maximum line length is 1.200 m.

  • The line length between the connection socket of the communication server and the connection socket of the system phone must be at least 10 m.

Note:

You must not connect any other radio units or system phones to a DSI-AD2 interface to which a DECT radio unit is already connected.

Note:

If the terminals connected have high power requirements you need to use a local power supply or reduce the line length. Refer to the information in the User’s Guide of the terminals in question and your communication server’s System Manual.
