Least cost routing

To ensure that calls are routed as cost effectively as possible, it may be advisable to select the service provider according to the call destination (e.g. to use a different service provider for long-distance calls compared with local calls).

If Least cost routing (LCR) is deactivated the communication server routes an outgoing call according to the exchange access prefix dialled. LCR analyses the dialled call number and routes the call according to the defined LCR rules. The exchange access prefix is not analysed in the process. LCR can be activated and deactivated throughout the system and for each user level.

Exporting and importing LCR data

LCR data is part of the Excel export file and can also be edited externally. Each export file contains a spreadsheet for the network provider data (LCR provider), routing table (LCR routing table) and LCR table (LCR table). For more details please refer to Importing and exporting configuration data.
