SIP-DECT

Define here the specific SIP-DECT parameters and facilitate, the Mitel SIP-DECT system configuration.

Mitel SIP-DECT® solutions

With Mitel SIP-DECT® and Mitel 600 DECT and 700 DECT series phones comprehensive solutions can be provided for wireless telephony on IP-based networks. This requires RFP radio units that can be directly connected. The OpenMobilityManager (OMM) is installed on one of the RFP radio units or on a PC, - this constitutes the management interface for the Mitel SIP-DECT solution. A secondary (stand-by) OMM can also be configured. Mitel 600 DECT and 700 DECT phones load their firmware from the OMM.

To facilitate the SIP-DECT configuration, the internal MiVoice Office 400 DHCP server can be used. The necessary parameters are transmitted via “DHCP Response” to the SIP-DECT radio units (RFPs).

To facilitate the SIP-DECT configuration, the SIP-DECT parameters are configured and transmitted to the radio units (RFPs) via the help of configuration files (some of the parameters are only relevant for the OMM). To find the MiVoice Office 400 configuration server, the internal or an external DHCP server can be used. A manual entry of the IP address of the MiVoice Office 400 configuration server is also possible. You can find here the configurable and specific parameters which are only relevant to Mitel SIP-DECT.

Table 1. SIP-DECT RFP start up parameters

Parameter

Explanation

Service enabled

The Mitel SIP-DECT system together with MiVoice Office 400 is active (default value).

Primary OMM IP address

Enter here the IP address of the primary OpenMobilityManager server (OMM server).

Secondary OMM IP address

Relevant only if two OpenMobilityManager servers are available.

User name

The default is omm.

Current password

The password used while OMM was established. The default password is omm

New password

The new password to access OMM server.

Note that password must be at least eight characters long and must contain a number, a capital letter, a small letter, and a special symbol.

Note:

When the password is changed here, the password is changed automatically in OMP.

Password confirmation

The new password again.

System name

This is the name of the SIP-DECT system. It is displayed on the phone screen after a SIP-DECT cordless phone is registered.

PARK

A Portable Access Rights Key (PARK) is required to operate a SIP-DECT system. Each SIP-DECT system need a unique PARK that is used to identify the DECT-System on the Air interface.

For systems which needs less than five RFPs, click PARK button.

To fetch a licence-free PARK from the SLS server, click PARK button. If licence-free PARK is not fetched after clicking the PARK button, check the IP settings of OMM.

For systems with more than five RFPs, the license file generated by the SLS contains the PARK code.

If the system with up to five RFPs (and therefore with an online PARK) is growing to up to 256 RFPS, then the existing (online) PARK can be reused. Copy the PARK to the license’s server during the licensing process.

Authentication code (AC)

Enter a value of your choice. Alternatively, you can press

the button Create new AC to allow the MiVoice Office 400 WebAdmin tool define a value. This same authentication code will be used for subscribing the terminals.

DECT Regulatory domain

Regulatory domain setting is set automatically according to the MiVoice Office 400 sales channel. The Regulatory domain specifies the region of the world where the SIP-DECT system is being used. For legal reasons (usage of radio frequencies), it is very important to make sure that the setting is correct. EMEA is the correct value for Europe.

Tone scheme

Tone scheme is the signalling tones generated by the phones and the frequency for the tones are different for different regions. (Example: dialing tone, busy tone, ring back tone, etc.)

DECT Encryption

DECT can be encrypted.

Key lock for all phones (Seconds)

Set a time to automatically lock the keypad of the SIP-DECT terminals.

SOS call: call number

Emergency number to be dialed when the SOS key has been pressed on a SIP-DECT phone.

Backup

Click Download button to download omm backup file. Click Upload button to restore an omm file.

Sysdump

Click the Create button to create system dump. Then click Download button to download the system dump.

Note:

Sysdump is available only on MiVoice Office 400 VA and SMBC and only if the OMM is running on a RFP.

Table 2. Site 1

Parameter

Explanation

Wideband Audio G.722

Wideband is used on the Air Interface from the handset. The default coded G.722 is used.

SRTP

Secure voice over IP. You can select different options for secure over IP.

Enhanced DECT security (Precondition: DECT Encryption)

When enabled, sites can only contain RFP of the third or the fourth generation.

On installations with multiple sites, please enable this feature in all the sites.

Table 3. Enhanced

Parameter

Explanation

Transport Protocol

Here, you can select the transport protocol you want.

Feature Access Codes (FAC):

with this code, a user can carry out some specific functions on a registered SIP-DECT cordless phone. The codes consist of characters on the dial pad. They are interpreted by OpenMobilityManager and are not forwarded to the communication server. A prefix must always be dialled first before the actual function code. Therefore, the code (especially the prefix) should not match the internal numbering plan's number.

Feature access code (FAC) prefix

This code must always be dialled at the beginning of the following function codes. OpenMobilityManager is prepared so to say. Default value is set to *1.

FAC: Activate subscription

With this code, the registration of further SIP-DECT cordless phones can be authorised. Default value is set to 13.

FAC: Deactivate subscription

With this code, the registration of further SIP-DECT cordless phones can be prevented. Default value is set to 14.

FAC: User login

With this code, a user can log in by entering the user number and PIN in a SIP-DECT cordless phone. Default code is set to 11.

FAC: User logout

With this code, a user can log out by entering his PIN in a SIP-DECT cordless phone. Default code is set to 12.

Firmware server address

The firmware for the RFP radio units and for the Mitel 600 DECT and 700 DECT cordless can be automatically updated to the best version compatible with the MiVoice Office 400 firmware.

A global Mitel FTP server has already been predefined here. Various firmware versions are stored on this server, according to different communication server software releases. The predefined entry is adjusted to each communication server release if necessary. You can also indicate the address of another firmware server.

SIP-DECT® conferences

Mitel SIP-DECT® and Mitel 600 DECT and 700 DECT series phones provide comprehensive solutions for wireless telephony on IP-based networks. This requires that the networks have RFP radio units that can be directly connected to the LAN. The OpenMobilityManager (OMM) is installed on one of the RFP radio units or on a PC. This constitutes the management interface for the Mitel SIP-DECT solution. A secondary (stand-by) OMM can also be configured. Mitel 600 DECT and 700 DECT phones load their firmware from the OMM.

To facilitate the SIP-DECT configuration, the internal MiVoice Office 400 DHCP server can be used. The necessary parameters are transmitted via “DHCP Response” to the SIP-DECT RFP radio units.

To facilitate the SIP-DECT configuration, the SIP-DECT parameters are configured and transmitted to the RFP radio units via the configuration files (some of the parameters are relevant only for the OMM). To find the MiVoice Office 400 configuration server, an internal or an external DHCP server can be used. This can also be done by manually entering the IP address of the MiVoice Office 400 configuration server. You can find here the configurable and specific parameters that are relevant only to Mitel SIP-DECT.
