SMTP server

The integrated e-mail service allows user-driven or automated sending of operation or system messages, such as voice mail messages or messages on system events. This view allows you to configure the access to the SMTP server of the e-mail service provider.

Parameter

Explanation

IP address / host name

IP address or host name of the SMTP serv­er.

Transport

Protocol to be used for SMTP server. Select TCP, SSL or TLS from the drop-down list.

Port

Port of the SMTP server (default entry: 25)

User name

User name according to vendor specifications The user name often corresponds to the e-mail address.

Password

Password for authentication on the SMTP server.

Sender address

E-mail address of the communication server.

E-mail max. size (MByte)

Enter here the maximum e-mail size allowed by the SMTP server. If the e-mail to be sent exceeds the maximum size, it is sent without attachment.

Approximate recording time

This information can be used, in particular, to estimate the recording duration of voice mail voice messages and call recordings in G.711 format with the selected maximum e-mail size.

Encrypted authentication only

Authentication on the SMTP server is effected only if the server supports encryption in accordance with the CRAM-MD5 method.

If the SMTP server supports the CRAM-MD5 method, the SMTP client authenticates itself using encryption. If the SMTP server does not support the CRAM-MD5 method, the SMTP client authenticates itself without using encryption.

Note:

The communication server cannot receive any e-mails. Administrator messages from the SMTP server are not evaluated.
