Editing DDI numbers

Lets you edit the DDI numbers for ISDN or SIP connections and specify the internal destinations.

Table 1. Settings

Parameter

Explanation

Exchange connection

Here you can select the public exchange to which the DDI number should belong.

DDI number

Enter here the DDI number you want to create.

Call distribution element

Select here the reference number of the call distribution element to be created together with the DDI number. The first available call distribution element is used as the default setting.

Direct Dialling Plans

In a DDI plan you enter all the DDI numbers you set up or subscribed to with a provider. If you access the network via more than one provider (e.g. a PSTN provider and an SIP provider), set up a separate DDI plan for each provider.

Dialling in number

Direct dialling is used to reach internal users directly from the public network. The incoming call is linked with an internal destination (or several internal destinations) on the basis of the call number’s direct dial portion.

Within a direct dialling plan create your number ranges by agreement with the public network operator; these number ranges match the anticipated direct dial portions of the call numbers. In a three-digit direct dialling plan, for example, number ranges of 300…399 and 500…549 are created.

Table 2. Example of a dialling-in number

DDI

Call number

Trunk connection’s main number

+41 32 624 1300

User’s phone number

+41 32 624 1344

Direct dial portion

44

Dialling-in number entries in unspecified format (Unknown)

44, 1344, 6241344, 0326241344 (examples)

Dialling-in number entry in national format (National)

326241344

Dialling-in number entry in international format (International)

4132 6241344

Use National or International and the corresponding dialling-in numbers if you have activated Special Arrangement (CLIP not screening) with your network provider.

notes:
  • The outgoing CLIP number and the outgoing CLIP format in the trunk group configuration must match the dialling-in number and the dialling-in number format.
  • The CLIP specified manually in the user configuration must match the dialling-in number if the Unknown CLIP format is used.
  • If you entered the CLIP number manually in the user configuration and use the Unknown CLIP format, the CLIP number entered must match the dialling-in number.

Internal destinations

An incoming call to a DDI number is routed to one of the internal destinations defined here.

They can define the internal destinations depending on the switch position of the main switch group (switch group 1). The switch group can be used for example for Day, Night and Weekend switchovers with the control inputs of the communication server; it can also be controlled using time functions or operated manually via a phone.

Table 3. Internal destinations for ISDN dialling-in

Parameter

Explanation

User group

Enter the user group No. here (not to be confused with the user group's internal call number).

If the call is not to be routed via a user group, leave the input field empty.

User

Enter here the internal call number of a user.

If the call is not to be routed directly to an internal user, leave the input field empty.

Busy on busy

If the user is busy, busy is signalled to the caller even if the other destinations are free.

If the user is busy, the call is offered to the other destinations.

Transfer

The call is routed to the PC operator console.

Modem

Analogue remote maintenance access: The call is routed to the remote maintenance destination.

Mobile/external phone integration

The call is routed to the dial-in and authentication destination for GSM users. Once he has been authenticated, the calling GSM user obtains the internal dial tone. He can then carry out specific function codes in prefix dialling or make internal/external calls.

IP remote management (SRM)

Dialling this abbreviated dialling number prompts the communication server to set up an SRM connection.

Welcome announcement (MoH)

Here you can select whether a welcome announcement is to be fed in and, if so, which one.

Queue

Callers with a busy call destination land in the queue and are continually updated on their current position within the queue. The caller can also be offered alternatives for handling his call.

notes:
  • The queue cannot be activated if Integration of mobile /external phones or IP remote management (SRM) is configured as the call destination.
  • The queue with announcement function is activated only if the destination is genuinely busy. At the call destination Attendant only if the attendant queue is full.
  • Any call forwarding actions configured at the call destination are not executed.
  • Integrated mobile/external phones and PISN users are not called.
  • Max. number of entries

Enter the queue size here. This is equivalent to the maximum number of callers in the queue. If the queue is full, then any additional callers who end up at a busy call destination will hear the busy tone. If 0 is entered, then the busy tone is always heard in the event of a busy call destination. So, setting the parameter to 0 may be used to turn off the announcement temporarily.

Note:

Although the maximum number of entries is 200, only position 1...99 can be announced.

  • Auto attendant

Assign the queue the mailbox profile of an existing user or create a new profile.

No music: The call to a busy call destination does end up in the queue, but nothing is played to the caller.

Mailbox of user: <User name (call number)>: The auto attendant for the mailbox of a user is assigned to the queue.

Note:

Only those users that have a mailbox with an assigned auto attendant are listed.

New...: In doing so, a new auto attendant profile is opened. A user, voice mailbox and announcement with the action Position in queue information can be opened here automatically and can have a profile assigned. Further details can be found in the online help for this input window.

Table 4. Data service call destinations (This setting does not depend on the switch positions.)

Parameter

Explanation

Fax data

Use this exchange connection for incoming fax messages. All incoming calls are routed to the same call destination, i.e. the one you configured under Fax extension.

Fax extension

Select here the fax call number on which incoming fax messages are to be output.

Note:

In USA/Canada the abbreviation DID (Direct Inward Dial) is used instead of DDI (Direct Dialling In)
