Localization
You can adapt the communication system to your country's specifications, with the help of localization. In this view language packages can be manually or automatically loaded for Mitel SIP phones (6700/6800/6900) via HTTPS server. Moreover, you can manually or automatically load the languages for the WebAdmin, Hospitality Manager, and Self Service Portal user interface, as well as an external numbering plan for SIP connections via HTTPS server.
This view gives you an overview of the languages installed for the following components:
-
Audio guide
Audio guide consists of voice prompts for the voice mail menu, presence information and queue with announcement. The language package contains voice prompts in G.711 and G.729 format. The installation of appropriate voice prompts is done automatically, depending on voice mail mode.
-
User interface for WebAdmin, Self Service Portal and Hospitality Manager
The language can be chosen using the language selection box in the top right-hand corner of the user interface for each application.
-
Mitel SIP terminals
Language packages for Mitel SIP phones (6700/6800/6900).
-
External numbering plan
The external numbering plan is a country-specific text file which speeds up dialling during outgoing calls to the public network via SIP network interfaces.
Language packages
Each language is stored in a language package. Some languages are part of the communication server software and are also installed during a software update. Some languages are automatically downloaded from the HTTPS server and installed after the communication server is started for the first time. In both cases, it is all about the so-called basic languages. The type and number of basic languages depend on the distribution channel.
Clicking the Manage language... button opens the overview of the corresponding components. You can load the languages there later in form of .zip files from the HTTPS server, from a personal HTTPS server or from any storage area in the communication server. This way, you can complete your system with more languages if necessary.
The HTTPS server address is already predefined. This way you will always have the latest information (recommendation). You can also indicate a personal HTTPS server.
External numbering plan
For outgoing calls via SIP network interfaces the communication server must always send the complete call number. The end of dialling is signalled using the end-of-dialling character (#). If it is missing, the communication server will delay the dialling by approx. 4 s. Using a country-specific external numbering plan, the communication server is able to dial out immediately on outgoing SIP connections even if there is no end-of-dialling character (#). This speeds up the dialling process.
The predefined external numbering plans are defined in country-specific editable txt-files and stored in the /data/enp folder in the communication server's file system.
Here you can download and again upload the external numbering plan for the set communication server sales channel. The file must be named as follows: “extnumplan<Countrycode>.txt” (Example Switzerland: “extnumplanCH.txt”).
Enhancing the system with a language package from HTTPS server
To upload a particular language package onto the communication server, proceed as follows:
-
In the components you want, click the Manage languages... button.
-
To load a new language or a new version of an already available language, click in the lower table of the language in question on the Install button.
The language is installed and displayed in the upper table.
- The number of language packages you can install for each component is restricted. You may have to delete some languages first before installing new ones.
- Basic languages are contained in the communication server's software package and cannot be deleted.
- If a new language other than the one installed is available on the HTTPS server, this is displayed accordingly.
Updating languages automatically
You have the possibility to check whether the languages are up-to-date each time the system is restarted and to install it automatically from the HTTPS server. For this, activate the option Automatic update of language packages from server during system restart. You can activate or deactivate this option separately for each component.
Enhancing the system with a language package from any storage point
To upload a particular language package onto the communication server, proceed as follows:
-
In the components you want, click the Manage languages... button.
The languages installed on your system and the available languages on the HTTPS server are displayed (including version).
-
To load a new language or a new version of an already available language, click in the upper table on the
symbol. (If the symbol is missing, you must first delete an already installed language).
The language is installed and displayed in the upper table.
-
Select the language package to be loaded.
The required .zip file name is displayed (example: “langssp_*.zip”). The star (*) stands for the language ISO code (example “de” for German: “langssp_de.zip”).
- Basic languages are contained in the communication server's software package and cannot be deleted.
- You can download language packages for a specific release with the search and help tool System Search.
Opening or downloading an external numbering plan
Click in the localization overview, under External numbering plan, on the name of the installed file. The name depends on the set sales channel (example Switzerland: “extnumplanCH.txt”).
Uploading an external numbering plan
In the localization overview, under External numbering plan, click the Browse...... button then select the (modified) numbering plan. The name must match the name of the installed numbering plan. The (modified) numbering plan is stored in the file system under /data/enp. The file available there is overwritten.
External numbering plan does not exist for all sales channels. You can find all predefined, external numbering plans by navigating with the file browser through the directory /data/enp.
