Switch Groups

The switch groups are used to adapt the routing configuration in a flexible way to the customer's time- and situation-related circumstances. It means that calls can be routed differently during the day than at night or differently during periods of high call traffic than at times of low traffic.

Lets you name the switch groups and allocate them to the control inputs.

You can switch call destinations and a number of functions depending on a switch group's switch position. Each switch group has three switching positions. The switch positions can be used for example for day, night and weekend. Depending on the system there are up to 50 switch groups, of which switch group 1 is the default switch group and can be used everywhere.

Switchable destinations and functions

Destinations and functions that can be switched with all switch groups:

  • The call destinations of the call distribution elements

  • The routing of incoming calls to a welcome announcement of the announcement service

  • The routing of outgoing emergency calls

Switch group 1 can also switch the following destinations and functions:

  • The internal and external digit barring of a user

  • The allocation of an internal destination for the door bell

Switching switch groups over the phone

The user can switch the switch groups via the phone menu or by entering function codes, providing he has the relevant authorization. You can grant the relevant authorizations in the user configuration. You can use the internal digit barring to limit the authorization to individual switch groups.

Switching switch groups via control inputs

External switching devices can also be used to switch the switch groups via the control inputs of the communication server. FXS interfaces configured as control inputs can be used as control inputs.

The control inputs take priority over the function codes. This means a user cannot switch a switch group using function codes while a signal is imposed on the control inputs.
