Follow the information specific to your type of mobile phone:
- iPhone
Depending on the following scenarios, incoming chats generate different notifications for your MiVoice Office app and Android phone. You can respond to an incoming chat in different ways.
- When your MiVoice Office app is open and visible, or running in the background (open, but not visible), a chat notification sound is played and a banner appears on the screen. Tap the notification banner to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group who sent the chat.
- When the screen is locked on your iPhone, a chat notification sound is played and a banner appears on the screen. Swipe the notification banner to the right, select open, and unlock the screen to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group who sent the chat.
- When your MiVoice Office app is not running (closed), there is no chat sound or notification banner.
To find recently received chat messages, periodically access your Messages page by tapping the
icon in the navigation bar at the bottom of the app.
- Android
Depending on the following scenarios, incoming chats generate different notifications for your MiVoice Office app and Android phone. You can respond to an incoming chat in different ways.
- When your MiVoice Office app is open and visible, a chat notification sound is played and a banner appears on the screen. Tap the notification banner to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group that sent the chat.
- When your MiVoice Office app is running in the background (open, but not visible), a chat notification sound is played and a notification dot and number display along with the "Mitel Office" icon on your Android phone's home screen. If you touch and hold the "Mitel Office" icon, a list of recently received chat messages is displayed. Tap any chat in the list to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group that sent the chat.
- When the screen is locked on your Android phone, a chat notification sound is played and the locked screen displays a small Mitel logo. Unlock the screen and tap the chat indicator to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group that sent the chat.
- When your MiVoice Office app is not running (closed), and the screen is locked on your Android phone, a chat notification sound is played (if enabled in your phone) and the locked screen displays a small Mitel logo. Unlock the screen and tap the chat indicator to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group who that sent the chat.
- When your MiVoice Office app is not running (closed), and the screen is not locked on your Android phone, a chat notification sound is played (if enabled in your phone) and a banner appears on the screen. Tap the notification banner to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group who that sent the chat.
To find recently received chat messages:
- If there is a chat notification dot and number displayed with the "Mitel Office" icon on your Android phone's home screen, you recently received one or more chat messages. To view your missed chats, touch and hold the "Mitel Office" icon, and in the dialog that appears showing a list of recently received chats, tap an item in the list to go directly to the chat screen for the individual or group who sent the chat.
- Otherwise, to access your Messages page, tap the navigation menu icon (
) in the header bar at the top of the app and tap Chat.
