VWM0006 - Config Service not running and no DSYourSite in cache folder

DESCRIPTION

This situation occurs when any IVR service is unable load DSYourSite from a local cached copy. This can happen for one of two reasons:

  1. After a clean install and for some reason the config service did not start. Because we are clean, there is no DSYourSite in the cache folder and because the config service did not start no service or application will be able to retrieve DSYourSite data in order for it to be cached in the first place. In addition to this, the IVR services when started will NOT have any cache in memory either so it will not be fully functional until they can retrieve DSYourSite config data.
  2. Someone physically deleted the DSYoursite cache files and the config service stopped running before any other app or service could update the cache. If any of the IVR services were restarted after this while config service was still not running then this alarm would be triggered.

IMPACT

If the server is unable to load the DSYoursite Cache file it will continue to use one in memory. If there is no good copy in memory, the system may not be fully functional.

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

Start the Config Service. To do this go to Start > Run > type Services.msc. In the Services window find the prairieFyre Config Service, right click and select Start.

To verify that there is no local cache of DSYourSite, you can check the registry.

To do this, on the CCM Server click Start > Run > and type "regedit". You'll find the prairieFyre registry key under: HKLM> Software>PrairieFyre Software Inc/DSCache hive. If the CACHE[DSYourSite] key does not exist, than DSYourSite has never been loaded on that computer, you will need to restart the Config Service. After restarting the Config Service, the DSYourSite cache file will get created.
