SMA0001 - Unable to connect to the service monitoring agent

DESCRIPTION

This error means that an attempt to connect the service monitoring agent failed. This probably means the monitoring agent service is not running.

IMPACT

If this service isn't running, then there is nothing watching over the performance of your services. If a service has a serious problem it will not be detected and handled appropriately.

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

  1. Ensure that the service monitoring agent is running.

    On the CCM Server click Start > Run > Services.msc. Locate the prairieFyre Server Monitoring Agent and ensure its running. If it is started, you may want to restart the service to clear any errors. If you need to restart the service often, create a support package and contact prairieFyre support.

  2. Check the agent logs for errors.

The logs can be found on the CCM server under %InstallDir%ProgramFiles/PrairieFyre/CCM/Logs/ServerMonitoringAgent.txt
