View Licensing Information
The MiCollab administrator portal opens at the Licensing Information page, which displays details about user licensing for your applications.
Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) Bundles
This table lists the installed UCC Licensing bundles.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Bundle |
Lists the type of UCC licensed bundle; for example, UCC Entry Level for Enterprise (V4.).Note that you can generate a report that identifies the UCC licensing bundle assigned to each user. |
User Licenses |
Displays the maximum number of licensed bundles that you can assign. |
Currently used |
Displays the number of UCC bundles that you have assigned or attempted to assign. When this total is greater than the number of Licenses, it is displayed in red to indicate over provisioning. If required, you can purchase extra license bundles from your Authorized Reseller. |
Application User Totals
This table lists the installed applications and the user licensing information for each application. The totals in this table include the user licenses in the available UCC License Bundles plus any "al la carte" licenses that you may have purchased.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Application |
Lists the installed applications. |
User Licenses |
Displays the maximum number of licensed users that you can assign to each application or service. |
Currently Used |
Displays the number of licenses that you have assigned or attempted to assign. When this total is greater than the User Licenses, it is displayed in red to indicate over provisioning (also see Voice Mailbox Over Provisioning). If required, you can purchase extra licenses or uplifts from your authorized reseller. Note: SIP phones appear in the Teleworker license count regardless of whether they are registered to the ICP. |
Total user(s) and contact(s) count
This table lists the total count of users and contacts present in the system. The Configured value along with the Threshold limit and Maximum limit for the system resources is also displayed in this table.
When the user count crosses the threshold limit, an alarm is generated, followed by the second alarm, if the user count happens to cross the maximum limit. See the next section on Licensing - Alarms and Events, for more details on the alarms raised when the user count exceeds their limits.
Column | Value/Description |
---|---|
Total users configured |
Displays the total number of users configured with or without UCC bundle services. |
Total MiCollab Client Service contact(s) |
Displays the total number of MiCollab Client Service contacts which are configured. |
Total Peered user(s) and MiCollab Client Service contact(s) count |
Displays the total number of peered users and also the peered MiCollab Client Service contacts which are configured. |
Licensing - Alarms and Events
The following table describes the key server manager events and alarms that can be raised during user provisioning when the threshold and maximum user limit is crossed. These alarms are generated in the Event Viewer application of the Server Manager.
The first alarm is raised when the threshold limit of the user count is exceeded, which is 90% of the maximum limit. The second alarm is raised when the maximum limit is exceeded for the user count. The Maximum limit is the total number of users that can be configured in that particular deployment type. Currently there are four types of deployment (Small, Mid-market, Enterprise, and Large Enterprise) that are supported for both ESXI and Hyper-V environments. The Maximum and Threshold limits for the user count would also change based on the deployment type. For example, the maximum limits for the four types of deployment types are, Small- 250, Mid-market- 1500, Enterprise - 2500, and for Large Enterprise - 5000.
Even when the alarm is generated after crossing the maximum limit, it does not restrict the administrator to create new users beyond that limit (with a decrease in performance).
Alarms | Severity | Details |
---|---|---|
Server Running Out of Resource Note: Both the alarms will be raised in ESXI and Hyper-V environments only.
|
Minor |
The number of users provisioned is approaching the limit of available system resources as per the Engineering Guidelines. |
Minor |
The number of users provisioned has exceeded the limit of available system resources as per the Engineering Guidelines. |
Effect of Adding or Removing UCC Licenses
When you add or remove a UCC Licensing bundle, the system updates the UCC Licensing totals. The Application User Totals are also updated to reflect the change.
If you add/delete . . . | The following application user licenses (in use) increase/decrease by one . . . |

UCC Entry License |

UCC Standard License |

Voice Mailbox Over Provisioning
You are allowed to restore a database to a destination system even though the database may contain more voice mailboxes that the system licensing can support. Over provisioning of voice mailboxes is allowed in order to give you time to purchase additional licenses. If the system is in an over provisioned state:
-
A warning message appears in the Users and Services application that indicates that you need to purchase additional NuPoint UM user licenses.
-
You cannot add new voice mailboxes if the current mailbox count has reached the system NuPoint UM user licensed limit or if the system is in an over provisioned state. You will also be unable to add mailboxes from the NuPoint UM telephone user interface.
-
You cannot log into the NuPoint UM web console.
-
You cannot log into the MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing administration application.
-
You can log into the NuPoint UM Telephone User Interface (TUI), but you will be unable to access the administrative options.
To return the NuPoint UM application to its normal state, purchase additional licenses or delete the extra mailboxes. You must reduce the number of mailboxes to be equal to, or lower than, the number of available licenses.
