Auto attendant
The Auto Attendant allows you to offer the caller various options during the greeting for handling his call. The caller then select the required option by dialling a single digit (DTMF).
The Auto Attendant is one possibility for carrying out predetermined actions while a greeting is played back. The actions are either initiated by the caller (DTMF 0...DTMF 9) or triggered by the communication server itself (End of greeting, Busy or No answer).
A list and description of the actions can be found here Auto attendant - actions.
For each greeting each mailbox can be assigned the profile of an Auto Attendant. The caller then has the possibility for instance of influencing the way in which his call is handled. If he presses one of the digit keys 0…9 while greeting is being played back, the action assigned to that key is carried out immediately. If he presses the #-key or waits for the end of the greeting, the action assigned to the End of greeting parameter is carried out.
The parameter Delay after end of greeting is used to delay the subsequent action by up to 9 seconds. The delay is not taken into account if the #-key is used to skip to the end of the greeting.
For the actions, in addition to phone number digits, some macros can be entered for destinations:

Description |
Call identification shows always origin CDE name |
If a call is made via a CDE name, this name is listed in the target phone's call recognition (“<CDE name CLIP”). This setting controls the display of call recognition if the call is routed via more than one call distribution elements (e.g. =>CDE1 => Auto attendant => CDE2 => target phone). It applies for all auto attendant profiles.

Macro |
Meaning |
N |
The “N” macro allows the caller to carry out suffix dialling. This can be a complete call number or part of the end digits of a call number. |
K |
With macro “K” the communication server waits for the phone PIN to be entered in the form of *PIN# (this is the PIN of the user whose greeting is being played back). |
Gx |
If a particular greeting is to be played back, it can be done using the macro "Gx" (x=1,2,3) (usable only with action Deflect to mailbox (with greeting)). |
