Installations and upgrades now require a new Application Record ID (ARID) from the Mitel Application Management Centre (AMC). Ensure that in all configurations the system can access the AMC.

CAUTION: In case recovery is required, Mitel strongly recommends that the on-site PC have a serial cable connected to the Maintenance port of the 3300 ICP.
NOTE: Upgrades to MCD Release 4.0 and later are not supported on platforms that are not upgradeable to 512 MB of RAM. For a list of upgradeable and non-upgradeable platforms see Non-Upgradeable 256-MB Platforms and Upgradeable 256-MB Platforms.

NOTES
Because this platform has 256 MB of RAM, database conversion is performed during the reboot and consequently the reboot requires more time. The duration of the reboot depends on database size.
The firewall on the FTP server must be configured to pass the software to the MiVoice Business system. If not, the upgrade will stop while in progress and on-site intervention will be required.
This scenario is not recommended over ISPs that do not support bidirectional high speed. If the network connection is lost during the software installation or upgrade, the Software Installer may not be able to reconnect. If this occurs, on-site access to the serial port is required to complete the install/upgrade.
