If you have elected to perform an upgrade, you need to define the upgrade options in the Upgrade Options Definition Screen. This screen allows you to define which upgrade tasks should be performed.
NOTE: Upgrades are supported on systems with 3300 Release 8.0 or later only. Systems with earlier releases require a Full Install.
The tasks are as follows:
Backup (required): creates a database backup file;
Embedded Voice Mail (optional): installs voice mail prompt in selected languages;
Help Files (recommended): installs Help files for the MiVoice Business System Administration Tool.
Configure (optional): changes the License and Option configuration information;
Restore (required): restores the database.
A Database Backup is mandatory. The backup file is created on the controller. The file includes call history records by default but you can exclude them if you want.
For more information, see Performing a Backup during an Upgrade.
The Embedded Voice Mail option allows you to add and remove language prompts used by the embedded voice mail application.
NOTE:Support for embedded voice mail on an AX controller requires two flash cards. If the AX you are upgrading has only one card installed, the Embedded Voice Mail section will not be displayed.
For more information, see Installing Voice Mail Prompts
The Help files for the MiVoice Business Administration Tool are installed on the controller by default. You can choose to install them elsewhere or not at all.
NOTE: You cannot install the Help files on a 3300 AX due to limited memory space.
For more information, see Installing the Help Files.
The License and Options Selection (LOS) Configuration is optional. Selecting it allows you to change the LOS configuration.
For more information, see Configuring the License and Options during an Upgrade.
The Restore option is required. You can indicate whether or not the Hotel/Motel wakeup information should also be restored.
For more information, see Restoring a Database.
